The
Oral Majority will NEVER
FORGET the day Democracy Died.
Young
Americans Stand Up to LaPore
for Country and Beliefs
by

Not
every day can one get to be a part of a single four-membered group
of protesters that gives a crisp, interesting angle to an otherwise
dull news story involving a woman who became famous by causing a
country/worldwide mess!
That
basically sums up my experience at Theresa LePore's first talk after
the election. We thought we had arrived late and that she already
entered but, as it turned out, she was 25 minutes late... to her
own talk!
Finally,
we saw her and ran behind her and the news cameras through the door
of the lobby. We were singing "We who believe in freedom shall not
rest... shall not rest until it comes". She turned her head to see
what it was and quickly turned it back when she saw us with our
signs.
She kept on walking professionally and ignored us. We had to go
around three people that were trying to stop us from proceeding
until she turned the corner and disappeared and we were really shooed
out.
After
her entrance, we kept singing and chanting. Many people came by.
So many people really appreciated what we were doing and were steaming
mad at LePore. Gigi, my sister, had a sign that said "Theresa LePore,
Were you Paid Off?" and many people commented on it. Some said "That
is a SICK sign, you should be ashamed of yourself!". Others said
"You bet she was!!" No one commented on my sign, which said "Voter
intent=?; LePore's intent=W" and "Get it together, LePore!" on the
other side.
We
were interviewed by 4 TV stations and 5 newspapers. I, nor my family,
have got so much press!! Finally, she came out the same way. Many
more news cameras circled her and we circled them all the way back
to LePore's car, this time singing "All we are saying is give us
the truth!". She jumped in and sped away FAST!!
Then
we got to talk with more reporters from the news. Elvira, our friend
that joined us got into a heated debate with what she calls a Bush-whacker!!
Plus we got to tell a CNN executive how we don't appreciate their
biased broadcasting. To that he said "I understand and you WILL
be on the news tomorrow after 7:00!"
That
was a historical and meaningful protest and we couldn't help feeling
as we went away in the car that we did a meaningful service to our
country that history will remember!
