Oral Majority Confronts the Florida Connection in the Theft of Election
by
Georgia Smith
Florida
Governor Jeb Bush testified today before the U.S. Civil Rights Commission.
A hearing was convened in Tallahassee to look into voting irregularities
and civil rights violations in Florida during the November 2000
Election.
The
Chairman of the Oral Majority, Bob Kunst, was in Tallahassee
to protest the theft of the election and to tell the Commission
participants and the world that we will not forget this attack on
our rights as Americans.
After
testifying before the Commission, Governor Jeb Bush tried to duck
out the rear of the building to avoid the press. His best efforts
to thwart the media failed this time as he was surrounded by a swarm
of microphones and cameras from around the world.
Oral
Majority Chairman Bob Kunst shouted to Governor Jeb, "The election
was rigged! Resign Bush Resign!" Governor Jeb appeared less
than pleased to be challenged by this vocal protestor who continued
to tell the Governor, "You embarrassed our state and our country
when you helped your brother steal this election from the people
of Florida."
It
was at approximately that point that the media finally noticed Kunst
and the Oral Majority. As if the idea of a stolen election was news
to them, they turned to Bob Kunst for his side of the story of Florida's
Election 2000. He affirmed in no uncertain terms that he and many
of the people of Florida believe that Governor Jeb and his Secretary
of State Katherine Harris had the fix in long before Election Day.
Many
in Florida believe there were too many irregularities like the Felons
List put out by Secretary Harris that was filled with legal voters,
mostly black, who were NOT felons AND like the roadblocks
Governor Jeb's State Police put up around some polling places in
neighborhoods known to vote Democratic and to be black.
Testimony
before the Civil Rights Commission confirmed both of these allegations.
In
a scene Kunst described as "bizarre - like something from a
Fellini film," media from all over the world swarmed around
him to hear what the Oral Majority of Florida believes to be the
truth of the Florida Election. The swarm included reporters from
the New York Times, Newsweek, the BBC, the Nation of Islam, television
stations from around the state of Florida, national media outlets
CBS and Fox, just to name a few of the print and electronic media
who picked up on what we believe happened in Florida.
1,800,000
ballots in Florida NEVER recounted as mandated by Florida Law
Another outgrowth of Chairman Bob Kunst's sojourn in Tallahassee
is that he had a meeting with the gentleman who invented the Votamatic
voting machine used in the disputed counties in Florida. You may
remember this gentleman from the Florida election trial in Judge
Sauls' courtroom in Tallahassee that eventually ended up in the
dishonored Supreme Court of the United States.
He
testified as an expert witness on the Votamatic ballot system in
the trial of Bush vs. Gore. He was called by Governor Bush's attorneys
and testified under cross-examination that when there is a very
close election the only way to get an accurate result "is a
hand recount."
Chairman
Bob pointed out to the Votamatic inventor that the Florida Legislature
wrote a law saying that when there is less than 1 percentage point
separating the candidates in an election there MUST be a
recount of the entire state AND that 20 of the 67 counties
required by Florida law to recount DID NOT perform the mandated
recount.
In
those 20 counties, approximately 1,800,000
votes were cast and NEVER RECOUNTED
EVEN ONCE as required by Florida law.
The Votamatic expert told the Oral Majority's illustrious Chairman
Bob "that fact alone could have easily cost Al Gore far more
than 527 votes" considering the error rate associated with
the Votamatic voting machines.
For
those of you who don't remember...George W stole Florida from Al
Gore by 527 votes when his angry Republican mob filled with thugs
sent by Republican Congressman Tom Delay stopped the counting in
Miami and eventually the entire state.
The
20 counties that did not perform the legal recount mandated by state
law have Republican election officials.
This
fact alone leads some to believe that long before Election Day,
on Election Day, and after Election Day, Republicans in the state
of Florida have done whatever they pleased, regardless of the rule
and the spirit of the law, to put their good old boy W in the White
House.
Moral
to the story: Beware of those who claim the moral high ground
while thumping their Bible those like George W and a large
portion of the conservative right wing. They consider themselves
superior to you and they feel justified in doing whatever it takes
to control the soul of America. Even stealing an American election.
Now
you need to wonder what they might do next.
