It
was like taking candy from a baby, which of course is Bushit's
approach to being the Thief that he is, but coming to Panama City
was not his finest moment and in fact exposed him and his weakness.
Oral
Majority's 79th protest against Bushit since Nov.7, 2000, has
been to never give this bum any sort of legitimacy for 'stealing
our democracy' and negating everything this nation stands for
and folks gave life and limb to protect, he so easily dismisses.
However,
coming back to Fla. in Panama City where he thought he would get
away with it again, was both his mistake and 'waterloo'.
For
just being there with our banner that "Bush Stole The Election",
forced him to respond and he was therefore 'off track' and our
mission was accomplished.
He
did three things regarding this.
He
attacked democrats ,who he says just wants to keep 'revoting'
and then he attacks the media for 'investigating' the election
fraud, and the strategy backed by Oral Majority is that by pursuing
this issue and not letting it die, Bushit was forced to get into
the fray once again and as a result was held back from his 'tax
message', now starting to unravel.
This
Bushit character, in order to 'pay back' those who helped him
'steal the election', has managed over and over again, to develop
an 'economic and stock market meltdown', already in a nose dive
because the public won't spend or invest when the government has
been 'appointed' and not 'elected'. This 'theft' is just below
the surface, and is manifesting itself in economic terms through
this present crisis, only getting worse and being festered by
Bushit catering to his corporate buddies, downsizing like crazy,
and at the same time betraying Bushit's own campaign promises
regarding
global warming and environmental concerns, all being canceled,
to play this charade, now being exposed and openly opposed.
So
the Oral Majority strategy has been magnificent.
"Gore
Won! Bush Steals the Election" has become our mantra and
now public knowledge.
Both
NBC and ABC, and CNN (Fox also took videos) showed our banner
across the nation and planet.
In
addition, the A.P. story had Bushit saying: "Some of the
Democrats here want to keep re-voting the election. But if they
would listen to America, they would find that Americans want to
move forward."
"Not
so for the handful of demonstrators outside Bush's invitation-only
speech", which was in the Manatee Herald.
But
the Sarasota Herald (very Republican territory) had the Bushit
Brothers hugging in a photo and story on page 4A titled: "Bush
defends win at election battle site."
Just
using that word 'defend' is our victory.
The
Gainesville Sun's story on Page 2B, covered the Democratic ad:
"Jeb Bush delivered Florida to his brother George and now
we're paying the price," and also attacking Bushit's tax
cuts.
Jacksonville's
Times Union also ran the Washington Post story which said: "But
there was little public sympathy for the protests in Panama City.
Outside the Marina Civic Center, before Bush addressed Rotary
Club and Chamber of Commerce members, four men from Miami Beach
and a dog named Cocoa were the lone demonstrators. Robert Kunst
held a banner saying "Bush Stole The Election."
A
large front page photo in color showed a protest against Bush
in Jax. and also mentioned were going on in Orlando and West Palm
Beach. The Jax. protest was organized by U.S. Re. Corine Brown,
and comments from the rally: "Bush Stole The Election";
"Selected not elected."
In
the New York Times: "A small group of protesters outside
the speech site sought to question Mr. Bush's legitimacy, but
they were greatly outnumbered by the Bush backers who lined the
roadway along the motorcade route."His so-called victory
was grand theft", said Bob P. Kunst, a supporter of Mr. Gore
who was staging his 79th protest since Election Day."Before
the president arrived, Mr. Kunst stood beside two banners, a few
fellow protesters and a brown dog named Cocoa. "We're only
at the beginning stages of rallying the forces nationwide.",
he said.
More
protesters turned out in other parts of the state, and Democrats
in the Panama City area greeted Mr. Bush with a full-page advertisement
in the local newspaper. "Isn't it simply unfair to win by
breaking the rules?" the Bay County Democratic Party asked
Mr. Bush in an open letter.
This
story on Page 14A, gave us almost 1/3 of the coverage.
We
also got the usual stuff from the Washington Times on our 'liberal'
interpretation of the Broward vote, which Katherine Harris accepted
in
defining the Palm Beach Post story on this Gore Victory with 784
votes.
Also
Hispanic t.v. in Miami, Channel 23, had me on for a long time,
which they must have picked up from the 3 t.v. interviews I did
in Panama City.
And
it was great, and I was surprised, since I had led 16 protests
supporting Janet Reno on the Elian Gonzalez issue, this positive
reaction was just more good news on our impact.
The
Arizona Sun carried the story and I did another radio interview
long-distance on KFYI from Phoenix, AZ, for about 15 minutes of
serious shouting from the Repugs. who can't stand it. Charles,
the commentator ask how come I'm the only one left in the country
protesting and making it in the NYTimes and Az. Sun. etc., and
I responded that it only takes one person with the 'truth' to
expose this 'thief', which of course got the audience off the
wall, which I enjoyed immensely. I did this interview while driving
home and this was in Ft. Myers.
The
Panama City News Herald had a photo of me and 3 others under the
byline: "Protesters spread messages, but never see president."
In it: "Gay Right's activist Bob Kunst, with the Oral Majority,
drove from Miami to protest Bush's visit. He believes Panama City
was strategically chosen as Bush's first stop in Florida because
it's out of the way for out-of-town demonstrators.
"What
we have is an appointed president by the Supreme Court,"
Kunst said. "The whole world is laughing at us, saying,'who
are we to talk about democracy?"
He
said his "Bush stole the election" banner was partaking
in its 79th
protest.
While
both the Tampa Tribune and St. Pete Times had interviewed me,
neither put anything in their stories.
Also
our protest was ignored by the Miami Herald and Ft. Laud. Sun-Sentinel
and Orlando Sentinel.
On
the other hand, Knight-Ridder's story which ran across their other
papers, but not in the Miami Herald, quotes me: "What we
have here is an illegal president, a phony," said Bob Kunst,
president of a Miami Beach-based organization called the Oral
Majority.
This
I found in the Ft. Myers News-Press on Page 3A.
In
the Tallahassee Democrat: "A handful of protesters set up
a banner that said 'Bush Stole The Election' outside the bayside
auditorium. Bush didn't see the protest."
"Bush:
Media should Stop Florida 're-voting", was the headline in
USA Today which of course went through the Gannett chain of newspapers,
and in it Bushit is telling the media it's time to 'forget the
controvery.'Bush said continuing analysis of the state's ballots
isn't recounting. "That's all re-voting." "I don't
know how many times I have to win the recount."
Also:
"A dozen or so protesters carried signs saying "Gore
Won" and "Bush Stole The Election" outside the
Civic Center here, where Bush spoke about his proposals for tax
cuts, education reform and more funding for military pay and housing."
And
all of this on the front page of USA Today.
Not
too shabby I would say in looking at the great coverage we got,
and how now the media is defining Bushit as 'defensive' and not
liking to be told what to do and how to operate and so this 'honeymoon'
may well be over also.
What
was previously 'covered up' and one-sided now has a crack in it
and that could get wide open, big time just by keeping the pressure
and visibility going into every arena possible.
The
"OSCARS" IS OUR NEXT MAJOR NEWS STORY OPPORTUNITY in
L.A. at the Shrine Aud. on 3/25/01.
Our
strategies and impact has been fantastic, and the more revenues
we collect, the more we can do on this hugely successful level.
Bottom
line. Don't give up, don't give in, hold the 'thief' accountable
and watch him crumble right before your own eyes.
We
took on the 'resident thief' and he blinked and went off track,
became defensive and attacked the media and the democrats.
Mission
Accomplished.
Now
to Hollywood!
Yours
Faithfully,
Bob Kunst
