The Oral Majority is one of the most vocal groups of activists on the Internet. The stealing of our votes in the 2000 presidential election motivated us. The MadgrandMOTHERS & OTHERS are an outgrowth of the Oral Majority who will just not sit still and be made fools of by the Bush biased media any longer. We know there is a wrong man in the Whitehouse and that the current count of votes in Florida bears this out. We also know the vote count in Florida was unfair, inaccurate, and illegal, and that the people of Florida have been used as scapegoats by the right wing media in order to cover-up the corruption that is part of Governor Bush's administration.

Having been told on numerous occasions to be silent and "just move on" we are very angry, so angry that we took some lessons from our leader Bob Kunst who taught us a variety of techniques to peacefully protest the rape of America.

Our numbers are growing daily because we are just plain fed up and will not be silent about the theft of our democracy anymore. The American people have become so victimized by this Bush Coup, yet because some of us remain very comfortable in a culture of denial, and the media facilitates that denial, little is being done to right the wrongs done to us.

The Florida madgrandMOTHERS & OTHERS are deeply concerned about the example set here for our children and grandchildren. The Bush family has proven they can virtually buy a democracy. What kind of a compassionate and humane family value is getting thrown out here? We plan to take a lead in recovering American family values. We do this simply because we have more time than many "others" who must go to work and are usually very busy rearing their families. It was WE who were blamed by the media for being too stupid, fragile, or old to vote correctly here in Florida, so it will also be WE who will massively protest the presidential theft here in Florida! Not just grandmothers are welcome, but all people who will support those of us who proudly retired in this great state. We will never again be fooled by such things as "Butterfly Ballots", roadblocks, filled to the hilt polling places, and all other things to prevent the democratic process from occurring here in the Sunshine State.
