My
brother left my condo recently, and as soon as he got out of the
elevator on the first floor he called me on his cell phone. "Did
YOU do it?" he asked incredulously. When I asked
"what?", he said, "write 'HEIL TO THE THIEF
BUSH' on the certificate of operation card in the elevator?"
It
quickly occurred to me that I should never be seen coming out
of my elevator with pen in hand. No telling what form of
wrath the condo board could bring down on me.
After
I stopped laughing, I assured him that it was not I who had waxed
so poetically on the elevator wall. But, it did make me feel good
that someone else in my building believed as I did, that Democracy
in America had just received a critical blow from people who claim
that they know what is best. Thinking you know what is good for
America, and forcing your beliefs down America's throat are
TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!
If
George W. Bush had won the election fair and square, I would just
have to learn to deal with it — and I promise I would be
better at it than Clinton Haters have been — BUT HE
DIDN'T WIN!
He
is our White House Resident because his henchmen - from
Tom DeLay's rent-a-mob of professional Republican operatives in
Miami right on up to the Republican Party Partisans controlling
the Supreme Court - stopped the counting of legally cast
votes in the state of Florida. Further, reports have
come from concerned citizens in a few other states that some similar
things happened in their hometowns.
So,
those few words scrawled on my elevator wall gave me hope for
America. Now don't get me wrong. I am not encouraging
the defacing of public or private property. Few things annoy me
more than graffiti. I was positively apoplectic upon seeing graffiti
on Italy's Coliseum in Rome.
BUT…….you
could use your computer to make a sheet of peel & stick labels
that you could quietly post in spots appropriate for a notice
to be placed.
Imagine
how you could quietly and inexpensively make a loud statement
that could eventually be heard all the way around the world!!.
Buy some stock in a lable company and get busy posting your
thoughts about a stolen election. What if your quiet voice
added to the protestations of others turned out to be the primal
scream that frees America from the Tyranny of those who have
usurped the power that is America.
Put
your personal message on a sheet of labels and get busy. If
