I
was sitting at Sheraton waiting amidst the drizzle for the
protest to begin when a security guy asks me to move but not
the others and in my rush to find another space managed to
skid into an accident, a first, on this slippery road and
me like a schmo, not ready for any of it.
The other car had little damage and my car had a disaster
for the hood, and after all the time it took to write it all
up, I finally got to the demo against Jeb, who of course managed
to avoid the 100 protesters waiting for him.
But this 'umbrella' group did have 3 TV and Palm Beach Post
there for photos and interviews. By the time I got there,
half the crowd had left and I was speaking with a nice reaction,
though my mood was scattered, and still we got 15 "No More
Bushit" stickers on cars from all of this.
I reminded everyone that today was the "100th Day of Bushit"
and "Fraud", and a very weak Democratic leadership reaction
to it, that is endangering America they have forsaken for
their own self-interests.
One of the protesters and I were now inside the Sheraton,
and I with my button "No More Bushit" and stickers of like
saying on my pad, sitting on a chair but so visible from everyone
who was leaving Jeb's speech.
They all saw the message and Jeb's security would eventually
come over and demand that we leave, but I was literally there
to meet a woman organizer from Boca Raton, who also writes,
and sure enough she was there and we got 'tea' and conversation,
so that the Sheraton Gang at the Forum to hear Jeb, also got
to feel "No More Bushit" as well.
#105 protest since Nov. 7, 2000, did well in spite of my own
exhausting accident, that managed to throw my energy elsewhere,
until I refocused. #106 protest against Jeb was later in the
afternoon at Weston Hill County Club, which Jeannine had to
lead, for I was not able to handle anything else after all
of this.
