Jeb
Bush Protest in West Palm Beach, FL -- April 30, 2001
Jeb came to the Sheraton Hotel in West Palm Beach to deliver
a speech to The Forum Club, and about 100 of us protestors
were there.
I arrived at 11:30 a.m. to an already impressive showing of
seniors, union workers and other pissed off Palm Beachers.
The group was positioned at the main entrance to the hotel
with several police standing by.
Protesters continued to stream in and the police looked increasingly
concerned. They made an announcement with a bullhorn that
any people that were not registered guests and were parked
in the hotel lot would be towed.
I worried for a nanosecond about my minivan that I had carefully
parked backwards to hide my various incriminating bumper stickers....
but the thought of them cross checking plates with all of
the hotel records seemed unlikely.
Two local affiliates, NBC and FOX shot footage and a Palm
Beach Post photographer shot tons of pictures. There were
no print reporters as far as I could tell. They presumably
wanted to catch Bush driving into the entrance to our unwelcome
but it wasn't meant to be. Security must have given the coward
the heads up and he was escorted through a back entrance.
We must have given the gathering of well-dressed business
people something to talk about as they mingled waiting for
their exclusive luncheon to begin as evidenced by the look
of shock and anger on their faces as they drove into the hotel
lot - many gave us the finger. A few gave us the thumbs up
- but the majority of our support came from the chorus of
horn blowing of drivebys on the main road outside of the hotel.
We stood there for the duration of the event with several
speakers from various organizations addressing our crowd.
At about 1:00 p.m., we started to peacefully disband. I had
a little more time so I drove to the lobby entrance and waited
in my van for Bush to leave the hotel.
After a few minutes, I saw Bob Kunst from Oral Majority walk
to the entrance so I decided to catch up with him. He is widely
known to do or say the unimaginable and I was feeling a little
chutzpah myself.
He told me that he was supposed to meet a friend at 2:00 p.m.
in the lobby but saw no harm in trying to catch an audience
with Prince Bush. We sat in some comfy chairs directly in
the hallway that Bush would have to use to exit. By now the
crowd was disbanding and LET ME TELL YOU - I have never seen
so many St. John suits and facelifts in my life!
Bob had a stack of his "No More Bushit!" stickers sitting
on his lap and it was hysterical to see these giddy Republicans
exit all smiles and then catch a glimpse of Bob's stickers!
Daggers, I tell you!
At one point we overheard a guy say, "The boy did good this
time! I heard him speak a couple of years ago and it was dull."
Bob seized the opportunity and asked the man if he was as
dull this time. You think "W" can smirk? It must be a Republican
gene.
Finally, three dudes with the twirly ear pieces came up the
hallway directly to us and stated that we were not registered
hotel guests and therefore we must leave IMMEDIATELY. Bob
Kunst explained that we wanted no trouble and that he was
meeting a friend shortly in the lobby. I suggested that short
of leaving the grounds, that we might be able to wait in the
lounge. Mr. Secret Service loved that idea - as long as we
were not within sight of the poor cowardly governor.. then
he said this: "Thank you very much. You would make our jobs
a whole lot easier if you weren't here."
Well, I have one thing to say to that: You would make our
lives a whole lot easier if Jeb Bush wasn't Governor, therefore
enabling a theft of an election.

From Vilma of Oral Majority - Both of today's two
protests against Gov. Jeb Bush in West Palm Beach and Ft.
Lauderdale, went well. At the protest at the Sheraton Hotel
in WPB, there were over 100+ protestors from a rainbow & coalition
of groups/organizations including minorities, women's rights,
and union members. As well as the other groups.
From E. Schorr - The protestors did receive some news
coverage from three local T.V. stations and the Palm Beach
Post. On yesterday's first hour of "Talk of the Nation" (Online
National Public Radio), the last caller, Sarah -- an Oral
Majority member, said she had just returned from protesting
Jeb in Palm Beach. She made reference to the coalition of
seniors, democrats, environmentalists, educators, etc. who
were not getting over the illegitimacy of the pResident. North
Carolina Sen. John Edwards, who was on as a guest and Daniel
Schorr (no relation) were talking over each other at the end,
but Dan got the last word...he said he didn't know what the
problem was, Bush won the Supreme Court election by a majority.

Governor
Bush Greeted By Crowd Of Hungry SUV's - 04/30/01
Well we did it again. We protested Jeb for the 3rd time in
3 days. This time it was at the Weston Hills Country Club
in a very wealthy area. I finally figured out why these people
like Jeb and George so much. No, it has nothing to do with
bringing integrity back to the white house, or tax relief.
It is because they need the fuel for their gas-guzzlers, and
the Bush boys are in the oil business! Every vehicle that
poured into that country club was an oversize SUV. Their were
Navigators, Land Cruiser, Explorers, Explosions, God knows
what else! They are the reason there is an oil shortage. What
do they get - 10 miles to the gallon?
Anyways, I arrived early to stake out the spot. I held up
my sign "Gore Won It - Bush Stole It," with a "No More Bushit"
sticker taped to it. Not much reaction from the rich moms
driving their kids home from school. Although everyone did
make a point to read it. I got a thumbs up from a guy in a
Mercedes convertible - not bad. There was a honk or two. One
lady said "Don't you have anything better to do?" I said,
"This was the best thing I could think of to do today!" I
meant it. I have a lot to do, but this is what I wanted to
do!
After about 15 minutes a fellow protester, Frank, from the
carpenter's union showed up. He picked up the "Honk if Bush
Stole The Election" sign. We started to get honks. All told
we got about 15 honks and 4 people gave us the finger (I guess
those were the "high moral grounders") in an hour.
The best part was when Jeb drove by in a black Lincoln Town
Car with dark windows. He was in the front passenger seat
on the phone and as he drove by I saw him reading my sign!
See how much impact only 2 people can have!

The Oral Majority
Marriott
in Fort Lauderdale
- 04/30/01 The only road in or out of the Harbor
Beach Mariott was lined with oralmajority protesters. Jeb
Bushit scheduled to speak at a fundraiser drew hundreds of
cars full of his supporters. They were treated to an in-your-face
greeting by Angry American Patriots as the line of vehicles
crawled around the curve to the guard house and gate.
I'm sure Bob Kunst and film documeter Jannine Ross will be
better able to give you a numbers/faces account. How many,
Bob? Twenty? More? I'm sure it sounded like a hundred with
the very acoustic conditions in the canyon of beach hotels,
but there is no doubt the message that was delivered on the
streets of Ft. Lauderdale Saturday afternoon. Jeb Bushit
is a thief!
He stole 4-1/2 million of taxpayer dollars from Sunrise Savings
and Loan. Where's our money, Jeb? He stole a sizable budget
surplus that he inherited from his democratic predecessor.
Where's our money, Jeb? He stole our votes. He stole our money.
THIEF! His family stole the gold from the mouths and fingers
of Jews killed in the Nazi Death Camps. Nazi collaberators!
He wants to pump sewage into our aquifers. We
(now) have a budget crisis and he wants to give 22-1/2 milllion
of our money to rich Floridians with an intangibles tax credit.
And, make no mistake, those driving the gauntlet were made
very VERY uncomfortable by our active vocal presence.
I had one ex-Marine ask me if I had served. Probably in response
to my American Distress Symbol - Upside-down flag, and when
I asked if he had, and why and for whom. He had to admit it
was for us and our right to the Constitutionally Guaranteed
First Amendment Righ to Free Speech, and Peacfully Assemble,
and Petition our Government for Redress of Grievances. I told
him that I am an American Patriot and I am angry. I explained
that I believe that every patriotic American should be angry
at what happened last November and December. Why was he not
on the street with us and instead helping to support the overthrow
of our Government? He had no answer.
Alot of very uncomfortable Republicans and alot of thumbs-up
from nearly everyone else. Way
to go oralmajority.

Bush Speaks In Tampa, Oral Majority Is There - 4/28/01
While the pinhead pundits try to make Bushit look good, the
'guilt' of being a thief, and knowing that we know he stole
the election, will not go away, not now or anytime, no matter
the bushit media blather.
Now imagine you're going to wine and dine for $1000 a plate,
with Jeb Bushit at the Harbor Beach Marriott in Ft. Laud.,
on 4/28/01.
And you're in your finest both in clothing and car, only to
drive into a road where Oral Majority's Mighty 13 are standing
out there with signs that "Bush Stole The Election", while
chanting: "Republicans are Thieves", "No More Bushit".
From
our side of the story it was a fabulous protest, #104, since
Nov. 7, 2000.
We already knew that "No More Bushit" got their goat, but
accusing them of being 'thieves' was icing on the cake and
those 'smiles' on their pusses left quickly, as the label
stuck in their craw.
Of course, the angrier they got, the happier we got.
I was attempting to dramatize pouring 'Arsenic" water on one
car, and they got hysterical, while I commented: "Well if
it's good enough for your stomach, why not your car?"
"Raw
Sewage and tonic madam?", I offered. They were not amused.
One older bitty called me a 'fag'. We also got about 7 'fingers'.
Such hostility. Tsk, Tsk.
Ironically, there was another function also going on at the
same time and we had quite a few supporters also in this car
line and yes, Jeb was in a white limo and slowly came by our
whole majestic protest. Hey, if we were the conversation piece
at the beginning of this event by these hard rollers, then
mission accomplished.
Of course, the Bushit Media ignored us completely, but not
all those driving in or walking to the event, who got the
'full monte', and we get to do it again tomorrow morning at
10:30A.M. at the Sheraton Hotel in West Palm Beach on Okeechobee
Rd., and then at Weston Hills County Club at 4:30 P.M. in
Broward County.
So many sour faces, so little time. How come these 'winners'
are such 'losers'? How come all this money and no class as
well?
How come after 5 months they are still facing protests and
we keep the issue alive that they 'stole the election'?
Inquiring minds want to know and we've got those answers.
Want 'em?

Bob Kunst

Bush Speaks In Tampa, Oral Majority Is There - 4/28/01
Gov. Jeb Bush came to the Tampa Radisson Wednesday morning
to address the opening session of the Family Literacy Conference.
In what seems to be a cat and mouse game, the Oral Majority's
quest to protest the theft of the presidency by the Bush brothers
song-and-dance team posed a challenge this week.
When our pResident abruptly cancelled, without explanation,
an appearance at Jacksonville Naval Air Station that OM had
planned to protest, we scrambled for information of where
Jeb would be in Tampa that would preclude his appearing with
his big bro in Jax. Thanks to the persevering efforts of our
talented member, Vilma, it was determined that Jeb would be
speaking at the Family Literacy Conference Wednesday morning
. I arrived to find Bob and Suni poised and ready at a strategic
corner of the Radisson entrance. Bob's great banner, "Bush
Stole the Election" provided a "warm" reception for Jeb and
his entourage. We brandished some great signs crafted especially
for this week's protests by our master sign maker, Suni!
We received much support by passersby, and two or three "hardcore"
Bush supporters argued with us from their carssuch
cowards. A conference attendee upon seeing us decided
to join our effort for about an hour. Jan, from Brooksville,
who teaches prison inmates, protested with us and as we chatted,
we learned a lot about Democratic party activities in Hernando
county.
Suni and I had moved to the plate glass windows of the hotel
lobby upon Jeb's arrival and held our signs directly up to
the window, Jeb being 10 or 12 feet away. A group of schoolchildren
were performing a song-and-dance number for him; we stayed
put as long as the management would allow-we wanted to assure
that as many attendees and especially the children got a glimpse
of the TRUTH-not just the Bush PR fairy tale! We even attempted
to enter the lobby (we are getting bolder) but the manager
emphatically told us to leave "or he would have us arrested."
Suni admonished him, saying "You would have a grandmother
arrested?" and he replied, to the effect, that that would
be even better!
We retreated to our corner and remained there with our signs
and tainted water until the Bush caravan departed at about
11:30 a.m. Afterward over lunch, we did some great brainstorming-planning
and getting great advice from Bob re future protest strategies.
We agreed that we have a great need to broaden our visibility
and membership and this was a good opportunity to share ideas.
We wholeheartedly INVITE ALL PROGRESSIVES TO JOIN US in Oral
Majority protests. The camaraderie is very fulfilling, in
that we know we are not remaining silent-that we are doing
our part to GET BACK OUR DEMOCRACY!
On to the St. Pete Pier for a hearty Kate-booing later in
the week!

Tampa
Area Protest against Katherine Harris - 4-26-01
Dear Friends,
I do regret being so late in getting this report to you. After
doing 3 protests this week quite frankly I'm---hmm, BUSHED???
Just saying that brings my anger and energy level back up
again.
Four of us went to the St Petersburg Pier on Thursday night
because Katherine Harris was addressing 150 people at a dinner
in the Columbia Restaurant on the fourth floor of the pier.
She must have been mighty early because we were there at 7PM
and never did get a glimpse of her. Nevertheless we protested
down on the entrance to the building with again, many thumbs
up from passersby.
At around 9PM we started getting tired and the young College
student Dave was hungry. So we three mothered him by putting
our signs away and accompanying him into the luncheonette
where he ordered a Philly Cheesteak while we had a cup of
coffee. He only began eating his sandwich when a security
guard escorted two policeman over to our table. The police
politely gave us the order to leave because management said
we must. Explaining that we were peaceful and that the pier
is a public place didn't help, so Dave just picked up his
sandwich as best he could and we grabbed our coffee and walked.
We all agreed that "you win some and you loose some. This
evening was a definite loss since there was no booing, not
even once. Jan said, lets cancel Tomorrow's Kate-booing and
I agreed. But next morning as I reached the keyboard of this
computer, I noticed a couple of messages from people whom
I had never received email from before and oh God, they were
all going to the....ugh......St Pete Pier. I didn't get the
chance to cancel it.
I was there early enough to get a good parking place and moments
later, Vivian showed up. She chose a couple of signs from
my open trunk full of protest signs but she also wanted to
create her own with the poster paper and blue marker she brought,
carefully stating "Katherine Harris Stole Our Votes". Within
minutes Vivian lifted her creation off the trunk of my car
and we walked on down the pier. I showed her the spot where
we were asked to stay last night and then Barbara joined us.
She protested with us once before in Tampa with our orange
fringed car caravan honking at FOX News. Soon we were also
joined by two more women from St Petersburg and we all shared
our knowledge and opinions of Jeb, Katherine, and DumbYa.
Two more folks joined us later and then two more, each also
leaving at different times. We did this for about an hour
and then it happened---ta da---. She arrived in a Black limo
that pulled up in front of the door. Her long skinny legs
encased in a surprisingly short skirt reached out for the
grounding of the Pier and then our booing began. We went on
for about 3 or 4 minutes to the surprise of tourists around
us. Kate didn't turn around once to give anyone the satisfaction
of seeing disappointment or even any emotion on her reinforced
face done by the make -artist (Jeb?) or whoever.
After she went in we protested for the rest of the morning,
surprised again at how many people agreed with us, and considering
this place should have offered her the support of her right
wing fans. This is just my 8th protest of Bush and with every
one I find the majority agrees with us more and more. If it's
true that Katherine is running for Congress next election,
and that this was just one more fundraiser for her, then more
Kate-booings are in definitely in order. I just wish my friends
of Thursday evening could have spent their anger and received
the rejuvenation I experienced that Friday morning.
Harris tried to sneak off of the Pier in a different car,
one that looked remarkably like the car that Jeb arrived in
at Tampa on Wednesday. I had a feeling that Kate was hiding
there in the back of that car, so I tried to convince my new
friends of this, but they didn't seem to believe it. So I
just booed her all by myself as the beige car left the scene.
I booed with all my heart for those people who couldn't be
there. I booed Katherine Harris for those of us who had to
work that day. Later the kind security officer told us that
I was right and it truly was Kate in the back seat of that
car.
Ah...icing on the cake... It's so good to be right!
ALL Smiles dear Friends, Suni:)))
REPONSE
FROM BOB KUNST TO PREVIOUS REPORT:
Suni:
Super-well done. You see how many are with us, most behind their
PCs will never know or understand. You get to take the stress
out by giving it to Kate and her supporters, and this works
psychologically on all involved. You empower yourself and others
by these patriotic acts. You inspire others and now this great
network you've developed, because you love your country and
see what is happening.
It only takes a few to make the cowards know how we feel
about their aberrant behaviors and politics, and it all goes
back to chaos central, for Jeb will be protested 4 times in
6 days in 4 cities and Kate gets it twice in St. Pete, and
that means that the enemy has been exposed 6 times in 6 days.
And the Bushit media isn't interested in letting the public
at large know of this truth, and their collaboration in selling
out of America is obvious, yet the grassroots knows and is
urging us on, each and every time we show up.
This is the real news we are making and the Bushit media
is covering-up, but the public is with us and this figure
is getting larger all the time.
We won, they stole it, we expose it, we win again, as part
of a bigger struggle, which is not just to have this opposition
in educating the masses as to what has really happened, but
in empowering the masses to take back their beloved country
and to be doing outreach daily and stating our case to anyone
who will listen, and that is the real victory in not sitting
back and taking this crap on any level.
Suni, you did brilliantly. The only time the opposition
wins is if we aren't there to remind everyone that they are
the thieves and criminals.
Now, we will also have the opportunity to ask "Al Gore'
on May 9, in Orlando, on why he is silent about this disaster
to our nation.
Want to join with me then? Also we'll have the opportunity
to expose Kate in Ft. Laud. on May 11, at 5 P.M. at the Pier
66 Hotel on SE17th Causeway in Ft. Laud. and this week at
the Air and Sea Show in Ft. Lauderdale we'll be protesting
at 11 A.M. on Sunrise and A1A on Sat.
No end to the opportunities to keep the pressure going and
the statement that we'll never give up.
Yours Faithfully,
Bob Kunst
RESPONSE TO SUNI'S MESSAGE FROM A TEXAN:
Suni,
I have been watching with undisguised envy the stories of
your "Kate-booing". Good work my fellow human rights
soldiers. These people must be made to feel that there is
a price to pay for their shoddy doings. I certainly wish there
were some as committed to being everywhere the Bushmonster
shows his evil, smirking face. Also, that power-behind- the-stolen-throne
Barbara Bush. That woman had the nerve, on a talk show with
all the living former first ladies, to say her "caring
children" were her proudest accomplishment! I wrote her
a letter saying I thought her pearls were on too tight and
she was shutting off the oxygen to her brain! Keep up the
good work!
A real Texan, Marta G.
